Singapore will issue a new work visa (Tech.Pass) to top-tier foreign technology professionals starting from January 2021. Applicants do not need to have pre-arranged employment sponsorship in Singapore and will have greater flexibility in the activities they can undertake while in the country than holders of the current range of work visas.

The Singapore Employment Act is amended to keep up with evolving employment practices and workforce trends. The new amendments extend the Core Provisions (including paid annual and sick leaves, paid public holidays and wrongful dismissals) to managers and executives, increase non-workingmen's salary caps, enhance employers' flexibility and enhance the employment dispute resolution framework.

On 18 January 2018, the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) began a public consultation to gather feedback on its proposed changes to the Employment Act (Chapter 91) (Employment Act) in Singapore.
