At the Space Summit 2026, Singapore announced the organisation of the National Space Agency of Singapore (NSAS) by April 2026.
The NSAS will play a central role in strengthening Singapore’s space technology capabilities to support both domestic and regional use cases, including satellite‑enabled applications such as earth observation, climate resilience and maritime monitoring. The agency will also work closely with industry players to support the growth of Singapore’s space ecosystem and deepen international partnerships, and lead efforts to enact a pro-innovation and pro-business national space law.
The NSAS will build upon the work of the Office for Space Technology and Industry (OSTIn), which will be integrated into the new agency. This transition is intended to ensure continuity while expanding Singapore’s capabilities in national space governance and operations.
Ngiam Le Na, currently the deputy chief executive of DSO National Laboratories, has been named to head the NSAS.
The organisation of the NSAS underscores Singapore’s commitment to developing the space sector as a strategic area of growth and innovation. It also signals the Government’s intention to position Singapore as a credible and responsible participant in the regional and global space ecosystem. Space industry stakeholders should closely monitor further policy and regulatory developments as the NSAS becomes operational.
